DHL Paperless Trade service allows you to electronically transmit customs documents, eliminating the need to print and physically attach them to your shipments. As well as saving you valuable time when preparing your shipments, this free service will help you save on paper and printing costs, while also making a positive contribution to the environment. Also, the digital processing of your documents facilitates smooth processing at customs and a quick clearance of your shipment.

How does Paperless Trade work?
With Paperless Trade, you have the option to generate Commercial or Proforma invoices in the DHL shipping solutions or to upload invoices created separately. You will also receive a notification as soon as DHL Express has successfully received the invoices.
Paperless Trade is integrated into our shipping solutions. You register once for Paperless Trade, after which it will be offered automatically as you prepare your shipments - if it is available to the destination country and within Customs value limits.
DHL’s Paperless Trade is available for our Time Definite services, including Economy Select. Paperless Trade is integrated in our online shipping applications: MyDHL+, DHL Online Shipping, DHL XML Services and DHL IntraShip.
How do I start with DHL Paperless Trade?
Paperless Trade is available in MyDHL+, DHL Online Shipping, DHL XML Services and DHL IntraShip. Getting started is easy!
- DHL Online Shipping
All you need to do is activate DHL Paperless Trade via My profile in the menu. After accepting the General terms and conditions, uploading your company logo and digital signature, Paperless Trade is activated.
- DHL XML Services
Please contact your DHL Account manager to request Paperless Trade and the latest version of XML Services.
- DHL IntraShip
To activate Paperless Trade, select this option via 'Other functions' in the menu on the left-hand side. After accepting the General terms and conditions, uploading your company logo and digital signature, Paperless Trade is activated.
If your shipment requires other customs documents in addition to an invoice (such as a EUR1 certificate or T1 / Transit document), please contact your DHL representative for the possibilities.
Can I use my own invoice in Paperless Trade?
With Paperless Trade you have the option to create commercial or proforma invoices in your online shipping application, or to upload your own invoices created separately.
