The Republic of Ireland now has a new postal code system called 'Eircode'. An Eircode is a unique code consisting of 7 characters of letters and numbers. This postal code is unique to each residential or business address.
Eircode mandatory from 2 July 2023
Start registering the postcal code of your receivers in the Republic of Ireland in your own systems. From 2 July 2023, the use of Eircode will become mandatory. The postal code field will then also become mandatory in all DHL Express shipping tools.
Avoid unnecessary delays
From 2 July 2023, an incorrect or missing Eircode can cause delays and potential surcharges for address correction.
