Adrian Dalsey, Larry Hillblom and Robert Lynn, three ambitious businessmen from San Francisco, founded DHL
in 1969, transporting customs documents by airplane. As a result, the time needed for customs processing for freight shipments was drastically reduced. The first flights were mostly between San Francisco and Honolulu but the network was later expanded to all corners of the globe.
Since 2013, DHL has been the market leader in international express deliveries and logistics.

DHL Express has been in The Netherlands for 50 years. Much has changed during this period, but the hard work, mentality and pride are still evident. Logistics is more than just transport. Over the coming period, we will be investing 45 million euro in expanding and updating the Dutch branch of the international express network. In total, seven new branches will be built and two will be fully expanded and modernised. With these developments, DHL Express can increase capacity and introduce innovations. As a customer, you can expect an even better service and even greater speed.
