Tracking a shipment

1. When will my shipment arrive?

You can follow your shipment quickly and easily via Track & Trace. Simply enter your shipment number for the current status of your shipment.

 

2. Can I track my shipment if I do not have the shipment number (on the waybill/waybill)?

 If you do not (any longer) have the shipment number, you can contact DHL customer service for more information. If you are the recipient, you can also contact the sender/supplier.

 

3. When tracing my shipment, the question appears to contact DHL Customer Service. What is the reason for this?

This usually happens if the information we have is insufficient to track the shipment for you. The address may be incorrect or we may need additional information. This can be resolved quickly if you contact our Customer Service.

 

4. While tracking my shipment, I got the error message 'No shipment with this number found'. What does this mean?

The shipment number consists of 10 digits. Check if the entered shipment number is correct and try again. For further questions, please contact DHL Customer Service.

 

5. Can DHL keep me informed of the status of my shipment?

You can be notified by e-mail or SMS of certain stages in the transmission, up to and including the signature of the recipient. You can select these options here.

 

6. My shipment seems to be sent to a different location than the specified final destination.

Your shipment is on its way through our network, through service regions and sorting centers. In the case of a shipment to the Netherlands, it seems that the shipment goes to Amsterdam, Eindhoven or Rotterdam. However, these are the three service regions of the Netherlands. Your shipment will of course be delivered to the delivery address indicated by the sender.

7. As a DHL customer, can I get a tracking overview of all shipments for my customer number?

Yes, this is possible in DHL ProView, our online tracking system. Contact your DHL contact person to request Proview. Don't have a DHL account number and contact person yet? Then request it here. You can also receive a tracking overview without a DHL account number, this can be done by e-mail with DHL eTrack:
1. Open a new email and enter your shipment numbers. You can enter up to 50 numbers at a time. If you have received an e-mail with the shipment number (bill of lading number) that you want to track, please forward the e-mail to DHL. The number is automatically recognized in the text.
2. Send the email to track@dhl.com. You will receive the results by email within seconds.

 

8. When tracing my shipment, I receive a notification of a customs status. What does this mean?

The customs clearance procedure is pending at customs, which goes through several steps. When you click on 'More Information', you will see whether any action on your part may be required to complete this procedure.

 

9. My shipment shows 'Further details' with a (+) next to it. What does this mean?

If you click on the (+) you will see more details about the status of your shipment. This additional information can be a simple confirmation that customs clearance has been completed. You may also be asked here for additional information that is required for customs clearance of your shipment.

 

10. I have made a new appointment with a new delivery address. Now I see the old address on Track & Trace, is this correct?

If you have made a new delivery appointment with a different address, you can assume that your shipment will be presented at this other address. The original shipment details remain visible in Track & Trace.
